Autistic People Are

On February 23, 2013, there was a flash blog in an attempt to change how Google autocompletes the phrase “autistic people should”. Google has since promised to change their autocomplete endings. At the time the first flash blog was organized around “autistic people should, a second flash blog was also organized around “autistic people are”. Here is my contribution:

Autistic people are people.

The word “people” can be defined as a body of persons. A person can be defined as a human being, an individual.

Autistic people are individuals.

As an individual, an autistic person is capable of feeling all the love, all the compassion, all the hate, all the pain, and all the anger that any human being can. “Human being” is defined as a member of any of the races of Homo sapiens; person; man, woman, or child.

Autistic people are human beings.

As a human being you are considered a person, a person that should be respected as an individual, with individual needs. Being human is a characteristic of people.

Autistic people are people.
